This chapter is based on what really counts.... HEART.
You know when you do a job, you get money for the job,
Sometimes its not all about the money, Sometimes its in your heart, and that is
a great thing to have is heart…Well this build was different for me, See this
guy Todd, from a club that I’m in (with over 30+k members) he mailed me- keep
up the good work on my project, (Project Clean And Sober) and those words meant
a lot to me, So I contacted him on his cell and we hit it off!! See he lives in
Arizona, I live in Cali, I have never met him in person.... He was talking about
doing a really crazy add on to his Avalanche, It was fun to try and help Todd
out on this project, So we worked with each other over the phone. That project
was not going to happen, but we kept in contact, and I said to Todd I have never
seen a picture of your Avalanche, so he sent me some, and boy was it cool
looking!!
I then called him a few days later and said dude that
Avalanche needs a lift, I was just fooling with Todd, (that is what I do for a
living is lifts and lowers and other stuff to complete a build) but he took what
I said very straight, (wow) After talking a bit I knew that then it was on!! So
we bounced back and fourth for weeks and weeks... 6" was the first thing we
talked about, ...boring, ...then the 8"... boring, THEN that's when I got
really serious about this build. You see Todd’s a family man and drives this
truck daily so we had to figure something out to where it would not be to tall
or to small, so I made some calls around town and to all of my contacts... And
boom it was on!! I got hooked up with
Chad in Arizona (Extreme Conversions) he spent a lot of time with me on the
phone...
I was blown away
with the time he had for me, And he was blown away that someone from California,
my company (called Inline Concepts Motor Sports) and asked for help on this
build, You see Todd was going to drive all the way to Nor. Cal. to have me help
him with this build, And I said no lets figure something else out…So we pulled
it off over the phone, And let me tell you it turned out sweet, 12" of
lift, (Cognito Motor Sports) powder coated blue and black, dual Fox Shocks in
the front corners, fox in the rear corners (all chrome) 20x10 Diamo rims(17
Karat) 37" tires (Pro Comp) Amp Research power steps, 1.1/2" billet
wheel spacers, to widen out the track for looks, handling and safety, and a
bunch of extras to make the build perfect, I will say that this was the best
build I ever done, by helping someone out I don't even know!!
Todd is so happy with the way the build turned
out, and the way the truck drives, as well as his son TJ and his wife Darla as
well ...it was VERY important to me to make this one perfect, and it is, I had
numbers of hours on the cell phone to a lot of different contacts and numbers of
hours trying to put this together at home doing home work on this build, But it
is not always about the money, And yea it put a good feeling in my heart, And a
big shout out to Chad at Extreme Conversions, I would like to say thank you very
much for helping with this build, I don’t even have the words.....
